UK Service Terms and Conditions for Gunnersbury Carpet Cleaners

Carpet cleaning technician preparing equipment for a UK service appointmentThese Service Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Gunnersbury Carpet Cleaners provides carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services to domestic and commercial customers in the UK. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, allowing access to the premises, or paying any deposit or invoice, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms. These conditions are intended to be clear, fair and legally practical, and they should be read together with any quotation, booking confirmation or written service specification issued for a particular carpet cleaning appointment.

In these terms, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Gunnersbury Carpet Cleaners, and references to “you” and “your” mean the customer or person booking the service. Our services may include carpet cleaning, stain treatment, deodorising, stain protection, upholstery cleaning and other related cleaning tasks agreed in advance. These terms apply to all such services unless we state otherwise in writing.

Professional carpet cleaning process in a domestic property interiorWe may revise these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of booking will normally apply to that booking, unless a change in law or regulation requires an immediate update. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue in full force. Nothing in these terms affects any rights that cannot legally be excluded under UK consumer law.

Bookings are accepted only once we have confirmed availability and, where applicable, received the required deposit or written acceptance of our quotation. A booking may be made by telephone, email, online form or any other channel we make available. When you request a booking, you must provide accurate details about the property, access arrangements, the nature of the cleaning required, known stains, carpet type, fibre content, room sizes and any conditions that may affect the work. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the service booked is suitable for the items to be cleaned.

All quotations issued by Gunnersbury Carpet Cleaners are based on the information provided at the time of quoting and may be adjusted if the actual condition, size, content or level of soiling differs from the description given. Our quotation is usually an estimate unless expressly stated as fixed. If additional work is required on arrival, we will explain the likely cost before proceeding. No change to the agreed service will be made without your approval, except where immediate action is required to prevent damage or meet safety obligations.

Cleaning operative treating a carpet stain with specialist equipmentIt is your responsibility to ensure that we can access the premises at the agreed time, with safe entry, suitable parking where required, and the cooperation of any occupiers or managing agents. If access is delayed, restricted or refused, we may charge for wasted attendance and may need to rearrange the appointment. You must also remove fragile items, valuables, personal belongings, and any obstacles that could interfere with the cleaning process. We may move lightweight items where appropriate, but we are not required to move heavy furniture, fixed fittings or items that could be damaged by relocation.

Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking or in our quotation. Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due immediately upon completion of the service and before departure of our technician. We may require a deposit for larger, repeated or high-value bookings. Accepted payment methods may include bank transfer, card payment, cash or other methods specified at the time of booking. Any deposit paid will be applied against the final invoice unless stated otherwise.

If payment is not received when due, we reserve the right to charge reasonable late payment fees and statutory interest where permitted by law, particularly for commercial customers. We may also suspend future services until outstanding sums are settled. Where a customer disputes part of an invoice, the undisputed portion must still be paid by the due date. Any billing query should be raised promptly so that it can be reviewed in a reasonable time.

Prices quoted for carpet cleaning services may exclude extraordinary contamination, specialist stain removal, heavy furniture moving, parking charges, congestion or permit costs, or out-of-hours attendance unless expressly included. We aim to be transparent about pricing, but unforeseen circumstances may affect the final amount. If we identify an issue that could increase the cost, we will normally discuss this before carrying out further work. Discounts, promotions and special offers are offered at our discretion and may be withdrawn or changed at any time without prior notice, unless already confirmed for a specific booking.

Cancellations and rescheduling must be made as early as possible. If you need to cancel or change a booking, please provide reasonable notice so that the appointment can be reallocated. For consumer bookings, any statutory cancellation rights under UK law will apply where the service has been booked at a distance or off-premises and the legal conditions for cancellation are met. If you request that we begin work during any cancellation period, you may lose the right to cancel once the service has been fully performed, in accordance with applicable law.

Where a booking is cancelled with short notice, or where we arrive and cannot perform the service due to access problems, unsafe conditions, incomplete preparation or a change of mind, we may charge a cancellation fee or a proportion of the agreed price to cover lost time and expenses. If we must cancel or reschedule because of illness, equipment failure, traffic disruption or other operational reasons, we will take reasonable steps to arrange a new appointment. We will not be liable for indirect losses resulting solely from an unavoidable change to the service date.

We will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, using methods and products that are appropriate for the materials and condition described to us. However, carpet cleaning is a restorative service rather than a guarantee of complete removal of all marks, odours or wear. Some stains, especially those caused by bleach, dyes, pets, rust, ink, makeup, food colourings or previous cleaning attempts, may be permanent or may respond only partially. Natural fibres, delicate fabrics and older carpets can be vulnerable to shrinkage, texture change or shading, even when handled carefully. We may refuse to treat an item that appears unsuitable or unsafe to clean.

Carpet cleaning service team working safely in a home settingBefore any treatment begins, you must tell us about existing damage, unstable flooring, hidden hazards, water leaks, electrical issues, infestations, recent dye transfer, prior chemical treatments, underfloor heating, or any other relevant risk. If you provide incomplete or inaccurate information, we will not be responsible for problems caused by those omissions. We may also decline to proceed if we consider the service environment unsafe for our staff, the property or the equipment. Any advice we give about drying times, ventilation, aftercare or re-entry should be followed carefully to reduce the risk of damage.

Our liability is limited to losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or of our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or damage caused by pre-existing defects, wear and tear, or conditions that were not disclosed to us before the service.

If we are found liable for damage to property, our liability will ordinarily be limited to the reasonable cost of repair, replacement or rectification, taking into account the age, condition and depreciation of the item. You must notify us of any issue as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within a reasonable period after the service is completed. We may inspect the alleged damage before making any admission of liability or agreeing a remedy. Failure to allow inspection may affect the outcome of any claim. We are not liable for items left unsecured in the work area or for losses arising from instructions you gave us to proceed in a particular way.

We take compliance with environmental and waste rules seriously. Wastewater, waste sludge, used cleaning materials and any removed debris will be handled in accordance with applicable UK waste regulations and the Environmental Protection Act 1990, together with any relevant local or national guidance. Customers must not ask us to dispose of prohibited materials, hazardous substances or waste that requires specialist handling unless this has been agreed in advance and we are legally permitted to do so. Where waste is produced during the service, we may need to leave it for the customer’s own disposal if it is not lawful or practical for us to remove it.

All detergents, spot treatments and cleaning agents used by Gunnersbury Carpet Cleaners will be selected with safety, performance and environmental responsibility in mind. You must inform us if anyone at the property has allergies, sensitivities, respiratory conditions, or other health concerns that may be affected by cleaning products or drying conditions. Although we aim to use products that are suitable for normal residential and commercial settings, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free or residue-free environment. We recommend proper ventilation during and after cleaning and prompt caution around wet areas to avoid slips, falls and re-soiling.

Final inspection after carpet cleaning with drying and care equipmentWhere necessary, you must make arrangements for children, pets, vulnerable persons and sensitive equipment to be kept clear of the work area during the service. We do not accept responsibility for animals, valuables or personal documents left exposed in areas being cleaned. Any furniture, fixtures or fittings that require special handling should be identified in advance. If our team is asked to move or work around electrical equipment, plumbing, alarm systems or other installed items, you remain responsible for ensuring that they are safe, disconnected if appropriate, and suitable for the intended use.

We may suspend or terminate a booking if you breach these terms, fail to make payment, present an unsafe environment, or behave in a threatening, abusive or discriminatory manner. In such cases, any sums due for work already performed or for wasted attendance may remain payable. We may also refuse future services where there has been repeated non-payment, abusive conduct, or misuse of our equipment or staff time. Termination of one booking will not affect any rights or obligations that arose before termination.

Any complaint about the service should be raised promptly and in writing so that we can investigate it properly. We may request photographs, access for inspection, or additional details to understand the issue. If a valid complaint is confirmed, our preferred remedies may include re-cleaning affected areas, partial refund, or other reasonable corrective action. The exact remedy will depend on the nature of the issue and the circumstances of the booking. No complaint will waive your duty to pay for undisputed and properly completed work.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory law requires otherwise. If you are a consumer resident in another part of the UK, any applicable consumer protections in your jurisdiction will continue to apply where they cannot be excluded. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms, the booking, or the services supplied will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any rights you may have under mandatory consumer legislation.

Nothing in these Gunnersbury carpet cleaning terms is intended to create a partnership, joint venture or employment relationship between us and the customer. We may assign, subcontract or otherwise arrange for qualified personnel to assist with the performance of the service, provided that this does not reduce the level of care we owe under these terms. Your rights under a booking may not be transferred to another person without our prior consent, except where required by law.

Any waiver of a breach or delay in enforcing a right under these conditions will not prevent us from enforcing that right later. No variation to these terms will be effective unless agreed by us in writing or clearly confirmed in the booking record. These Service Terms and Conditions, together with the quotation and booking confirmation, form the entire agreement between the parties for the relevant service, except where additional legal rights apply.

By proceeding with a booking for carpet cleaners in Gunnersbury, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms. We recommend retaining a copy for your records. If there is any conflict between these terms and a separately signed agreement, the signed agreement will take precedence to the extent of that conflict. All services are provided subject to availability, operational capacity and lawful access to the premises.
